Saint Gabriel is one of three archangels mentioned in the bible and is considered the messenger of God. He appears in the Old Testament in Daniel to explain to him the visions he sees. In the New Testament, Gabriel is seen several times. First by Zacharias, husband of Elizabeth, to inform him of their pending pregnancy with John the Baptist. He then appears to the Virgin Mary that she will conceive Jesus. After the Annunciation of Mary, Gabriel is not spoken of again.
