Patron Saint Of:
those suffering for nervous and mental and victims of incest

Saint Dymphna was born to a pagan father and Christian mother. She consecrated her life to God at age 14. Around that time, her father suffered greatly from mental illness following the death of his wife. He looked to remarry someone as beautiful as his wife as a means to address his mental instability. His plan was so evil that he was advised to marry his own daughter. Dymphna fled to Belgium and started a mental hospital for the poor. Her dad found her though and attempted to convince Dymphna to marry him. She refused and he killed her with his sword at the age of 15. At her shrine, many healing miracles still occur.
