Saint Barbara was known for being very beautiful. She was so beautiful that her father, a rich pagan, would keep her from public view by locking her in a tower. While locked high in the tower, Barbara stared at the landscape and marveled at God’s creation. This helped convert Barbara to become Christian, and she dedicated her life to God,choosing a life of virginity. From a bathhouse her father built for her, Barbara performed many healing miracles. Her father tortured Barbara after learning of her conversion. Barbara received help from an angel to heal the wounds. She would eventually die by beheading at the request of her father.
